Pastoral Prayer

Holy and Gracious God,

Whose ways are not our ways and whose thoughts are not our thoughts. You alone God are the most powerful. We stand in awe O great Creator of your world. The beauty of this place stops us in our footsteps. From the sun rises to the sun sets, the glorious pink, yellow and orange which fills the skies never cease to amaze us. These moments are an unexpected gift of pure joy and beauty and for those we are ever grateful.

God as weather slowly becomes warmer, the days become longer and the sun shines brighter we are reminded that time continues to move and that nothing stays the same. There are good times O God when we wish for time to freeze and stop for a moment, so that we can hold on to what we have now. Then in the hard times we wish for time to pass more quickly. God remind us that in the hard times there is always light of a new day.

​This morning God we also give thanks for the people who stand beside us when things are hard. For the love and support they give, for the care they provide and for all they do out of love. For these people God we say thank you.
And in the silence, O God we lift up those people as well as other prayers which we hold deep within our hearts….
God in your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.
